In the spring crop of 2025, Thai Binh province plans to plant 74,000 hectares of rice and over 15,000 hectares of other crops. Spring rice yield is expected to reach over 7 tons/ha, with output of over 510,000 tons.

The agricultural sector recommends that farmers do not burn straw, but use straw to produce mushrooms and as animal feed.

The agricultural sector's policy is to expand the area of rice cultivated by machines to 35,000 hectares; encourage people to accumulate and concentrate land, plant the same tea, same varieties, and apply maximum mechanization in production to facilitate linkages in product consumption.

Regarding the season, focus on sowing short-term spring rice from January 24 to February 5, 2025 by sowing young rice on hard ground with a dome frame covered with white nylon or sowing rice in trays in greenhouses or covered with nylon; sow reserve rice at a rate of 5 - 10% with short-term rice varieties to respond promptly if there are severe cold conditions, cold damage that kills rice. Finish sowing before February 25, 2025. For spring crops (corn, peanuts, vegetables of all kinds), sow in February 2025.

The agricultural sector recommends that localities focus on cleaning fields, plowing and turning fallow land, and completing irrigation before December 15, 2024; and recommends that farmers do not burn straw and stubble, which pollutes the environment and increases greenhouse gas emissions. In areas infected with the two-spotted stem borer, it is necessary to clean fields early, not to let the rice wither and stubble, creating conditions for the worms to overwinter and continue to cause damage in the spring crop of 2025.
