TPO - The Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City requires schools to allocate timetables for primary school students from 7:30 a.m. onwards and no later than 7:45 a.m. The first period in the afternoon must start no earlier than 1:30 p.m.

The Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City has just issued a document guiding a number of activities at the beginning of the year and preparing for the new school year 2024-2025 at the primary level. It clearly stipulates the time to start school, the curriculum and textbook regulations for primary school students.

Specifically, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City requires school principals to proactively arrange school plans and build flexible and suitable timetables.

Every day, there are at least 7 periods, it is recommended to have 4 periods in the morning and 3 periods in the afternoon. In addition to the 7 periods in the program, the school can develop a school program and plan to organize other activities for primary school students. This is done depending on the needs, abilities of the students and the agreement with the parents.

After school each day, the school can plan after-school clubs until students are picked up.

The school must ensure the following daily schedule: For two-session classes, the first period in the morning must start no later than 7:30 a.m. and no later than 7:45 a.m. The first period in the afternoon must start no earlier than 1:30 p.m.

The Department of Education and Training notes that the program for week 1 starts from September 9 to September 13. The following weeks will be implemented in turn according to regulations. Units will proactively arrange the program, teaching plan and timetable to ensure that the integrated program is implemented in week 1 and the following weeks according to the school's school year schedule.

Unified use of 3 types of squared notebooks

The Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City requires all blocks to use 3 types of squared notebooks.

Math Notebook: Students take notes on knowledge related to Math and do Math practice exercises.

Vietnamese notebook: Students use it to take notes on knowledge related to Vietnamese.

Lesson Book: You take notes for the remaining subjects.

Grade 1 is not required to have a Lesson Book. Grade 1 students are encouraged to use the Lesson Book from the middle of the second semester of the school year.

Note, students can write reading sheets or reading diaries in their Vietnamese notebooks. For grades 4 and 5, students are encouraged to listen and write down some important content in the teacher's lectures in their Vietnamese notebooks.
