Newcastle are in the market for a new goalkeeper with No 1 Nick Pope facing a season-ending shoulder injury. The club's scouting team will be assessing transfer options as the transfer window reopens next month.

Martin Dubravka will replace Nick Pope in December. However, coach Eddie Howe does not have full confidence in the Slovakian goalkeeper.

In the list of targets that Newcastle is aiming for, the experienced name David de Gea stands out. After parting ways with MU in the summer, De Gea has not found a new destination because he wants a high salary.

When he was at the Red Devils, the Spanish goalkeeper received a salary of 375,000 pounds/week. If he joins Newcastle, De Gea wants a salary of 200,000 pounds/week.

Aaron Ramsdale is being "abandoned" by coach Arteta at Arsenal so he is also ready to move to Newcastle in the winter transfer window.

However, the priority of "Chich choe" is De Gea, because the Gunners of London will "shout" a fee of 50 million pounds in the Ramsdale deal.

Recently, David de Gea was contacted by Real Betis and Saudi Arabian club Al-Ettifaq but negotiations fell into a deadlock.
