According to the announcement, all VF8 vehicles of GSM Company will be transferred to FGF Company from now until February 2025 to provide personal, business or retail car rental services to customers in need.

A representative of billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong shared that stopping the use of VinFast VF8 cars in the taxi business system is the next step after customers have had time to fully experience it.

This is the way to ensure that the VF8 line maintains its core positioning standards, is suitable for the high-end segment and meets the expectations of successful customers.

In the past, the VF8 car line has been used in the SM Luxury Green taxi service to promote outstanding features and bring a classy experience to customers.

However, the decision to withdraw VF8 from the taxi system is considered a step forward to preserve brand value and focus on the high-end customer market.

On the side of Xanh SM, the company will standardize and provide 3 main transportation services by electric cars, including:

Economy - Save with Mini Green;

Standard - Standard with Hero Green 4-seater car line;

Premium - High-end with Neo Green and 7-seat LimoGreen cars.

Drivers currently driving VF8 will be assigned to another vehicle line.

According to GSM's announcement, drivers using VF8 in the SM Luxury Green taxi service will be temporarily switched to using VF5 or VF e34 cars to continue working.

According to records, currently major taxi companies in Vietnam are accelerating the conversion to electric vehicles such as Mai Linh, Lado Taxi, Let's Go Taxi, Suntaxi...

Despite challenges in charging infrastructure and investment costs, the transition to electric vehicles is becoming an irreversible trend.

Experts predict that within the next 5 years, electric vehicles will account for at least 50% of the number of taxis operating in major cities, marking an important step forward for Vietnam's transportation industry.
