Tien Yen opens Then singing and Tinh lute classes in 2024

The People's Committee of Phong Du commune (Tien Yen) has just organized the opening ceremony of the class teaching Then singing and Tinh lute of the Tay ethnic group in 2024. This is an activity within the Project "Preserving and promoting the values of the Tay ethnic cultural village, Dong Dinh village, Phong Du commune in 2024".

The class was held from November 26 to December 22, 2024, with the participation of 24 Tay ethnic students residing in Phong Du commune. The students are all passionate about Then singing and Tinh lute and want to preserve the cultural identity of the nation. During the class, students will be taught basic knowledge about the origin of Then singing and Tinh lute; the value of intangible cultural heritage of Then singing and Tinh lute in the daily life of the Tay people; techniques for playing and accompanying Tinh lute for Then melodies; learning to sing ancient Then songs and developed Then songs with new lyrics; performing arts in Then singing...

Through the training course, the aim is to preserve the values of intangible cultural heritage in general, Then singing and Tinh lute of the Tay people in Phong Du commune in particular, and above all, to improve the quality and effectiveness of cultural and artistic movements at the grassroots level. This is also a practical activity contributing to the concretization of Resolution No. 17-NQ/TU dated October 30, 2023 of the Executive Committee of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee on building and promoting cultural values, the strength of Quang Ninh people to become an endogenous resource, a driving force for rapid and sustainable development; the province's annual theme is "Developing culture and people rich in Quang Ninh identity".
