Soc Trang province currently has press agencies such as Soc Trang Newspaper and Radio and Television Station; 2 representative offices of press agencies; 18 reporters registered to operate permanently and more than 40 reporters of press agencies registered to operate in the province. In the past time, press agencies in the province have operated in accordance with their principles and purposes; strictly implemented the direction and leadership of the Party and State in the field of journalism; provided timely, honest, and comprehensive information on life, economy, culture, society, national defense, security, etc. Representative offices and resident reporters in the province have performed well their functions and tasks in transmitting information and coordinating well the implementation of social security activities.
At the seminar, experts and units introduced the results of State management of revolutionary press work in recent times, the development trend of modern press in the new period; solutions to improve the propaganda effectiveness of press agencies, especially the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation. Speaking at the seminar, Mr. Pham Van Dau, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Soc Trang province, emphasized: In the context of strong development of information technology and communication, revolutionary press is facing both challenges and opportunities. Facing the trend of media convergence and digitalization, the press is having to constantly innovate content, form and transmission methods to increase interaction and reach the public more effectively.
