In Cam Pha area, Mr. Ngo Hoang Ngan, Chairman of the Board of Members of the Group, together with Deputy General Director of TKV Nguyen Huy Nam, directly inspected the situation at Cua Ong Port and some open-pit mines. At the same time, in the Western region, Mr. Phan Xuan Thuy, Deputy General Director of TKV inspected the storm response work at the following units: Dong Trieu Thermal Power Company, Uong Bi Coal Company, Mao Khe Coal Company... Meanwhile, in Ha Long area, Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan, Deputy General Director of TKV was also present to inspect the actual storm prevention and control work at some affiliated units.
At the units, the working groups focused on thoroughly inspecting key locations and items at high risk of being affected when the storm makes landfall, such as: storm prevention works, mine and tunnel drainage pumping systems, backup generators, dumping dams, drainage ditches and streams... to ensure safe operation and minimize damage to people and property.
To ensure the safety of workers and equipment, on July 21, TKV directed open-pit and underground mining units to temporarily suspend production from the second shift to the end of the third shift. In case of unusual developments of the storm, the Group will issue additional notices for timely adjustments. Previously, the Group issued an urgent dispatch requesting all affiliated units to urgently and synchronously deploy response solutions according to the motto "3 before, 4 on-site".
Through inspection, TKV requires units to closely monitor weather forecasts, organize continuous duty shifts even on holidays at the production control center until the weather stabilizes again. Disaster prevention plans must be activated immediately, and fully informed to all officers and employees to proactively prevent at work and residence.
At the same time, TKV directed the counting and dispatching of ships out of dangerous areas; safe anchoring of water transport vehicles; reinforcement of workshops and equipment, especially in port areas. Open-pit mining units need to carefully check waste dumps, slopes, dams, drainage belts; arrange guards, put up warning signs and move equipment away from locations at risk of landslides and flooding. For underground mining units, it is necessary to check and reinforce pumping systems, generators, glass doors and be ready to stop production when there are signs of abnormalities.
TKV also requested to increase the coverage of coal and mineral storage areas; reserve enough fuel for power plants and emergency vehicles. Units need to strictly warn, not to let people and vehicles cross streams and flooded roads during heavy rain; proactively reserve food, drinking water, and medicine for areas at risk of isolation; prepare evacuation plans from level D housing areas and areas showing signs of subsidence.
The PCTT - TKCN Command Boards of units must closely coordinate with local authorities to promptly handle incidents and evacuate people and property when necessary. The Group's specialized departments are assigned the task of absolutely not leaving the area if there is a natural disaster warning of level 2 or higher. The Group requires maintaining smooth communication, strictly implementing the reporting regime before, during and after the storm; promptly and accurately reflecting all developments to the TKV Command Board for timely and effective handling, minimizing damage caused by natural disasters.
