Mobile Internet speed in Vietnam increased 1.4 times

Statistics based on the i-Speed Internet access speed measurement system developed by the Vietnam Internet Center show that: the average mobile broadband download Internet speed in our country in July reached 54.34Mbps (slightly increased compared to June -52.4 Mbps); the average mobile broadband upload Internet speed reached 21.19 Mbps (equivalent to June).

It can be seen that the average mobile download speed in Vietnam has maintained growth for 5 consecutive months since March 2024. Accordingly, the mobile download speed increased from 38.69 Mbps to 54.34 Mbps, equivalent to 40%, this rate increased by about 20% compared to the mobile upload speed.

With fixed broadband, the average download speed nationwide in July was 100.28 Mbps; the average upload speed was 102.34 Mbps. In the past 3 months, fixed Internet speeds, both upload and download, have remained stable (with insignificant fluctuations, only about 1%).

According to records, in July, Viettel rose to the first position in terms of mobile Internet speed with an average download speed of 65.89Mbps and an average upload speed of 21.71 Mbps. Following was VNPT (download speed of 52.99 Mbps, upload speed of 21.5 Mbps); MobiFone ranked third and Vietnamobile ranked fourth.

In terms of fixed Internet speed, Viettel has risen to the top with a speed of 128.97 Mbps, pushing CMC Telecom down to 4th place after many months of leading. 2nd and 3rd place belong to FPT Telecom and VNPT. SCTV and Netnam hold 5th and 6th place respectively.

Thus, the published results create conditions for people, organizations, and businesses to choose services and network operators according to their needs and actual conditions. At the same time, it contributes to improving management efficiency based on actual data, thereby promoting the development and improving the quality of Internet access services in Vietnam.

The Telecommunications Department also recommends that individuals and organizations regularly use the i-Speed application to measure Internet access speed. Using this application is completely free and does not incur data charges.
