Awarding 32 prizes for photos promoting the culture of ethnic minorities and mountainous areas

Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Thi Thanh Chuyen presented awards to the winners of the photo series.

After 5 months of implementation, the 2024 photo contest promoting the culture of ethnic minorities and mountainous areas has received more than 220 quality photos (including photo series and single photos) from all over the country, such as: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Son La, Quang Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Dong Nai... The works are posted publicly on the Facebook page "Dien Bien Tourism - Dienbien Toursim". As of October 30, the contest has attracted more than 564,000 people to access the entries; the total number of interactions with the entries reached over 32,000.

According to the Organizing Committee, the competition brings a colorful, diverse and culturally rich artistic space. Many works deeply exploit the unique aspects of daily life, festivals, customs, and folk arts of ethnic groups such as Lao, Thai, Mong, Dao, Kho Mu, Ha Nhi, ... bringing very familiar stories but full of happiness about the simple, loving life of the ethnic communities of Dien Bien province.

Director of Tourism Promotion Information Center Dang Minh Phuong presented awards to the winners of the single photo content category.

Many of the photos have good content, not only showing the unique and distinctive culture of the Dien Bien ethnic community but also expressing the author's passion and affection for the land and people of Dien Bien. The photos have high resolution, clear details, showing the meticulousness in the photographer's working process... Thereby, contributing to building a valuable archive, serving as a source of inspiration for tourists and those who love ethnic culture who want to learn about the culture of the ethnic groups in Dien Bien province.

The Organizing Committee awarded 32 First, Second, Third, and Encouragement prizes to outstanding authors; including 16 prizes for single photos and 16 prizes for photo series. Author Mai Luong Giap (Dien Bien Phu Newspaper) won First Prize in photo series with the work Preserving the traditional weaving craft of the Lao ethnic group; author Tran Viet Linh (Dien Bien Phu City Medical Center) won First Prize in single photos with the work Spring Colors.
