China Airshow brings together many modern fighters

The China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition opened on November 12 in Zhuhai city with many fighter jets introduced, including China's new J-35 stealth fighter.


Fighter jets, civil aircraft and aerospace equipment from China and businesses around the world will be showcased at this year's Airshow China, a six-day event in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province.

Model of Chinese Air Force's J-35 fighter jet introduced at air show

On the first day, the public witnessed a performance by the Chinese Air Force's J-10 aerobatic team, followed by the J-20 fighter jet. The Russian aerobatic team also performed on the opening day, along with the appearance of the Russian military's Su-57 stealth fighter.

China unveils new stealth fighter J-35A

The highlight of this year’s exhibition is the debut of China’s J-35 stealth fighter. This fighter is lighter than the J-20 and has a design that has some similarities to the US F-35 fighter. In addition, the South China Morning Post reported that the Zhuhai aviation event is also likely to be the place where the Chinese military introduces a “mother ship” unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) model, capable of launching many small UAVs for attack and reconnaissance purposes.

This year’s event focused on showcasing weapons and aviation defense technology, as China celebrated the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) on November 11. In addition, a number of civilian and aerospace vehicles were also introduced, including a reusable cargo shuttle, according to Xinhua on November 11.
