Despite playing at home, the Vietnam U19 women's team faced many difficulties against the pressing play of the Thailand U19 women's team right from the first minutes of the final match of the 2025 Southeast Asian U19 women's team.

Coach Okiyama Masahiko proactively asked his players to play solidly on their home field, but the Vietnamese defense could only maintain their position until the 26th minute.

Thuy Linh's unfortunate mistake when losing the ball in a dangerous area created an opportunity for Rinyaphat to launch a beautiful curling shot, opening the score for Thailand. The first half ended with the advantage leaning towards the team from the land of the golden pagoda.

In the second half, the Vietnamese girls quickly found an equalizer after Hoang Van was fouled in the penalty area. On the 11m mark, Thuy Nga coolly kicked the ball, tying the score at 1-1. However, the joy did not last long when the Thai U19 women's team was awarded a penalty shortly after and Kurisara regained the lead.

In the 67th minute, from a situation where the ball bounced to the second line, Phatcharakorn was not marked by anyone and easily finished to increase the score to 3-1.

In this match, the Korean female referee - Kim Yujeong had two situations where she did not award a penalty to the girls in red in the second half, causing a lot of controversy.

Despite great efforts, the U19 Vietnamese women's team could not turn the situation around, accepting defeat and once again missing out on the Southeast Asian championship title. This was Vietnam's fourth loss in the finals of this tournament.
