Tran Thi Thanh Thuy (75 points) and Vi Thi Nhu Quynh Nhu Quynh (63 points) are the two players with the most points for the Vietnamese team in the Asian championship after 2 rounds. Wu Mengjie (1m89) and Zhou Yetong (1m86) are the main strikers of the Chinese team.
Pham Thi Nguyet Anh and Tran Thi Bich Thuy were used at some points in the matches to rotate and create surprises.
Thanh Thuy is still the biggest hope of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team.
The Vietnamese women's volleyball team entered the semi-finals of the Asian Championship for the first time. The remaining teams participating in this round are also the three strongest teams in the continent: China, Japan and Thailand. Compared to these opponents, the Vietnamese women's team still has many weaknesses.

The Chinese women's volleyball team is ranked 5th in the world and 1st in Asia. The team's impressive list of achievements includes 3 Olympic gold medals, a total of 10 world titles (World Championship, World Cup, World Grand Champions Cup, FIVB Grand Prix), 13 Asian championships and 8 ASIAD gold medals.
Before 2022, the Vietnamese women's team faced China 10 times in the Asian Championship, Asian Cup and ASIAD without winning a single game. The best result was only scoring 23 points in a game at the Asian Cup in 2012. That was the rare time the Vietnamese team scored more than 20 points in a game against China.
It was not until 10 years later that Ngoc Hoa and Kim Hue's juniors won their first match against the strongest team in Asia. At the 2022 Asian Cup, with a similar squad to the squad participating in this year's Asian Championship, the Vietnamese women's team lost 2-3.
The Chinese team only used the second team because the main team is training to prepare for the 2024 Paris Olympic qualifiers starting September 16. However, they still showed a high level of performance when they won all matches from the beginning of the tournament, defeating the Japanese team to take the top spot in Group F of the second round.
