On the evening of June 18, the Truong Sa Town Medical Center, Truong Sa District, Khanh Hoa Province received and promptly provided emergency care to a fisherman who had a serious work accident while fishing in the Truong Sa sea area.

The patient is Mr. Tieu Viet But, born in 1970, residing in Binh Tri commune, Binh Son district, Quang Ngai province, working on fishing boat QNg-95657TS.

According to fisherman Tieu Viet Luu, who worked on the boat, at around 7am on June 18, while working, Mr. But unfortunately slipped and fell from a height of about 4 meters, hitting his head on the hard floor. The accident left him unconscious for about 30 minutes and caused heavy bleeding in the temples on both sides.

Fishing boat QNg-95657TS quickly took Mr. But to Truong Sa island for emergency treatment.

At around 7:30 p.m. the same day, Mr. But was admitted to the hospital with a severe headache, dizziness, and two open wounds on his temples. After a preliminary examination, doctors found no signs of weakness in the limbs.

The military doctors of Brigade 146 (Navy Region 4) at Truong Sa Town Medical Center provided first aid, treated the wound, gave the patient antibiotics, painkillers, anti-edema drugs, vitamin supplements and asked him to stay in bed. At the same time, the patient underwent all necessary tests including: biochemistry, hematology and skull X-ray to assess the depth of the injury.

According to the initial diagnosis, the patient suffered a concussion and had scalp wounds in the temporal region on both sides due to a work accident, determined to be 11 hours after the accident.

Currently, the patient's condition is stable but is still being closely monitored due to the risk of wound infection and the possibility of intracranial hematoma formation.

The Naval Region 4 Command said the above emergency case shows the particularly important role of medical units on the frontline islands in Truong Sa island district, which not only protect the health of officers and soldiers but also provide a solid medical support for fishermen when going out to sea./.
