“There were attacks on the GUR headquarters. But the work of the GUR did not stop for an hour,” revealed Andrey Yusov, a spokesman for the GUR.

Ukraine has yet to comment on this incident.

Previously, on June 13, in an interview, Russian President Vladimir Putin affirmed that the destruction of the headquarters of the General Intelligence Directorate, as well as the energy system of Ukraine, is clear evidence of what Russia will do when faced with the reality of the red line being ignored.

Late last month, the Russian Defense Ministry announced preparations for missile strikes on key decision-making sites in Kiev. The building of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate is believed to be one of Moscow's targets.

According to some sources, GUR Director General Kirill Budanov was injured and hospitalized as a result of the attack. However, on June 20, Mr. Budanov appeared live on the country's television for the first time.

On the same day, the Russian leader declared that Moscow will continue to develop its nuclear "trident" to ensure national security and world stability.

According to the Kremlin, President Putin commented that equipping Russia's nuclear triad helps Moscow "create effective and reliable strategic deterrence, as well as maintain the global balance of power."

At the same time, Mr. Putin said that the development of the army and ensuring the country's reliability are also absolute priorities.

The head of Russia revealed that about 50% of the troops and units of the Strategic Missile Forces (RVSN) have been equipped with the latest Yars missile system. In addition, the launchers of the Sarmat complex have also been put into combat duty with new heavy missiles.
