Transported 239 boxes of illegal fireworks for wages

Today, June 25, the Economic Police Department, Quang Tri Provincial Police, said that the unit had just coordinated to detect a case of illegal transportation of fireworks in large quantities.

Previously, at 10:00 p.m. on June 24, 2025, at km42+932, National Highway 9 in Khe Ngai village, Dakrong commune, Dakrong district, the working group including: Central Region Drug and Crime Prevention Task Force (Department of Drug and Crime Prevention, Border Guard Command) and Economic Police Department, Quang Tri Provincial Police co-chaired and coordinated with functional forces to patrol, control and grasp the situation of trading and transporting prohibited goods on National Highway 9.

During the patrol, the authorities discovered a car with license plate 37H-022.71 traveling in the direction of Lao Bao - Dong Ha with suspicious signs, so they signaled to stop and check the vehicle.

Upon inspection, it was discovered that the car contained drivers Le Dinh Cuong (born in 1985) and Nguyen Dang Thang (born in 1981), both residing in Van Son commune, Do Luong district, Nghe An province, and many packages of goods suspected to be various types of explosive fireworks.

At the authorities, Thang initially confessed that the goods were foreign-made fireworks, which he was hired to transport from Huong Ho district to Nghe An province to receive payment. The seized evidence included 239 boxes of various types of fireworks.

The authorities have drawn up a record and arrested Nguyen Dang Thang for transporting prohibited goods.

Currently, the case is being consolidated by the authorities and strictly handled according to the law.
