Mr. Jonathan Wallace Baker - Chief Representative of the United NationsEducational , Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Vietnam - said that Global Geoparks are a model of people living in harmony with nature, promoting sustainable development and improving community livelihoods.

According to Mr. Baker, Lang Son Geopark helps clarify the evolutionary process of tens of millions of years, contributing to shaping solutions to respond to climate change and natural disasters.

At the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ngo Le Van assessed this as the result of efforts to preserve and promote Vietnam's cultural and natural heritage, along with intangible values such as Mother Goddess worship and Then singing of the Tay, Nung and Thai people.

He wants Lang Son to integrate sustainable development principles into park management, geological, cultural and ecological conservation, and create livelihoods for the community.
