According to information from Apple, the iPhone 14 Plus with the error was determined by the company to be manufactured from April 10, 2023 to April 28, 2024. "Apple" has launched a serial number checker tool for iPhone users to check for themselves whether the device they are using may be affected by this problem. Apple will repair affected iPhone 14 Plus units with the camera issue for free. The company says affected users can visit an Apple retail store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) for assistance.
The repair program applies to eligible iPhone 14 Plus units for three years after the device's initial sale, and users who have already paid to have the rear camera repaired can contact Apple for a refund.
This issue only affects iPhone 14 Plus units sold during this time. iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max users will not be able to apply for this free repair program even if they encounter the same problem.
