On June 11, news from the Tam Binh District Police Investigation Agency (Vinh Long) said that the unit had just issued an emergency detention order for Nguyen Chi Cong (34 years old) and Nguyen Quang Hung (41 years old, both residing in Can Tho City) to investigate the act of robbery.

Previously, at around 1:00 p.m. on June 3, Cong drove a motorbike with license plate 65F8 - 6052 carrying Hung from Tam Binh District towards National Highway 1. When arriving at a gas station in Phu Loc Commune, Tam Binh District, he saw Ms. PTKN (33 years old, residing in My Thanh Trung Commune, Tam Binh District), a gas station employee, lying in a hammock looking at her phone, and the two had the intention of snatching her property.
Cong immediately stopped the car for Hung to approach and snatch Ms. N's phone, then quickly escaped. After that, Ms. N. went to the police station to report the incident.
The car the two suspects used to commit the robbery was seized by the police.
Upon receiving the report, the Criminal Police Team of Tam Binh District Police coordinated with the Criminal Police Team of Binh Minh City Police to verify and arrest the suspect. Using professional measures, at around 11:00 a.m. on June 10, the police force arrested Cong and Hung when both returned to Binh Minh City to buy drugs for use.
Initially, Cong and Hung confessed that after snatching the phone, they sold it to a phone store in Can Tho City for 3.5 million VND to get money to buy drugs.
Currently, the above mentioned phone snatching case is being further investigated by Tam Binh District Police to be handled according to the provisions of law.
