On the afternoon of December 27, at the construction site of Tan Son Nhat T3 terminal, the urgent working atmosphere was evident in every position. The project is currently in the "sprint" phase to reach the finish line before April 30, 2025.

The Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) said Tan Son Nhat is one of the three most important and largest airports in the country. The construction of Terminal T3 with a capacity of 20 million passengers per year will "share the burden" of Terminal T1, which is currently overloaded, and improve the quality of service for people.

Currently, the T3 terminal construction project has completed the concrete and rough architecture. Of which, the 7,500-ton steel roof structure and the 45,000m2 aluminum roof have reached 100%. The glass wall part has reached 94%, expected to be fully completed in December 2024.

At the same time, many other items of T3 terminal have been and are being completed. Up to now, the total volume has reached about 83%, striving to complete the whole thing by April 30, 2025 for operation and exploitation.

Mr. Le Khac Hong - head of Tan Son Nhat T3 terminal project management board - said that the project has achieved good results in many aspects of both construction progress and quality, as well as labor safety.

"To inaugurate the project on April 30, 2025, we must complete the project 1 month earlier, which means there are only 90 days left to complete the project. This is a huge challenge, requiring the relevant units to be more united, to try harder and to be more determined.

Therefore, the construction site management board needs to pay special attention and promptly resolve any problems arising during construction, creating the most favorable conditions for contractors.

"Maximize all resources, implement solutions to ensure the completion of equipment installation, safe and quality operation and acceptance, and ensure the completion of the project and its commissioning," said Mr. Hong.

Launching emulation to soon bring T3 terminal to the finish line

On the same afternoon, Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) held a preliminary ceremony to summarize the 90-day and night competition to complete the entire terminal roof, facade and power the project, and launched a 120-day and night competition to finish before April 30, 2025.
