Vietnam National Administration of Tourism conducts field inspections at some tourist attractions in Hanoi

On August 7, Deputy Director Ha Van Sieu led a delegation of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism to inspect the Ha Thai lacquer craft village and Hong Van ornamental plant craft village in Hong Van commune. Also joining the delegation were Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism Tran Trung Hieu and officials of the Hanoi Department of Tourism.

According to the program, the delegation inspected a number of production facilities in Ha Thai lacquer craft village; Hong Van ornamental plant village; OCOP product display point in Hong Van commune; Chu Dong Tu temple and worked with the People's Committee of Hong Van commune.

At the meeting, the representative of Hong Van commune reported to the inspection team an overview of the tourism potential of Hong Van commune, emphasizing the highlights of culture and traffic infrastructure. Another advantage of Hong Van commune is that Ha Thai lacquer craft village (former Duyen Thai commune) was recognized by the Hanoi People's Committee as a Craft Village Tourist Destination in 2020 and the former Hong Van commune was also recognized by the Hanoi People's Committee as a City-level Tourist Area in 2024. Hong Van commune also regularly organizes events and activities associated with the exploitation of the "South Thang Long Heritage Road" tourist route of the Hanoi Department of Tourism. However, Hong Van commune has not yet exploited craft village activities well in tourism development.

Chairman of Hong Van Commune People's Committee Le Tuan Dung said that in the coming time, Hong Van Commune will focus on exploiting the spiritual tourism route along the Red River and the experience tourism spots and craft villages in the commune. "I propose that the Vietnam National Tourism Administration and the Hanoi Department of Tourism continue to pay attention and create favorable conditions to support the locality in solutions as well as attract investment in infrastructure to further promote local tourism development activities. I hope that Hanoi City will pay attention and have a policy to plan green urban areas and ecological urban areas of the locality associated with tourism development" - Mr. Le Tuan Dung suggested.

At the meeting, the delegation said that Hong Van commune has advantages in infrastructure, especially convenient traffic connection infrastructure with the center of Hanoi. Therefore, the commune needs to closely follow the activities of the Hanoi Department of Tourism to connect groups and businesses to bring tourists to the locality. Besides, it is also necessary to maintain OCOP products, exploit the advantages of production stages in craft villages to enhance experiences and attract tourists. On the other hand, it is necessary to increase the brand recognition of craft villages through urban renovation, installation of signs...

The representative of Hanoi Department of Tourism suggested that the Hong Van commune government continue to pay more attention to tourism development activities, closely coordinate with the functional agencies of Hanoi City to improve the quality of the "South Thang Long Heritage Road" tourist route under the theme "Quintessence of Craft Villages" which is expected to be announced in the near future. At the same time, promote the promotion of craft village products; take advantage of the surplus infrastructure after the implementation of the 2-level government to exploit tourism activities. "Hanoi Department of Tourism will guide Hong Van commune to develop community tourism. Aiming to become an ASEAN community tourism destination" - Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Tran Trung Hieu said.

At the end of the working session, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration Ha Van Sieu highly appreciated the potential and tourism exploitation activities in Hong Van commune, especially at the two locations the delegation had just inspected. Deputy Director Ha Van Sieu said that the delegation had listened to the report and inspected the reality, recorded the proposals of Hong Van commune to make recommendations to competent authorities, helping the locality overcome difficulties and limitations, and propose an action program to develop local tourism. "Hong Van has the potential to develop into a wonderful suburban tourist destination of Hanoi with the advantage of being close to the center and rich in identity. I hope that the commune government and Hanoi city government will pay more attention to tourism activities, so that the local potentials can be effectively exploited, turning them into products to attract tourists" - Deputy Director Ha Van Sieu emphasized.
