Phong Dien Commune War Veterans Association inaugurated the road.

The Phong Dien Commune Veterans Association has just started construction of a traffic bridge in Tan Binh Hamlet. This is a project to welcome the 1st Congress of Phong Dien Commune Party Committee, term 2025-2030. The traffic bridge is 32m long, 3m wide, worth 150 million VND, and was mobilized by the Commune Veterans Association. In addition, the Commune Veterans Association members voluntarily contributed 75 working days to build the bridge. Mr. Le Minh Phung, Chairman of the Commune Veterans Association, said: "From the beginning of 2025 until now, the Commune Veterans Association has participated in planting royal poinciana flowers on a 600m long road, implementing the model of "National Flag Road" 1,200m long... In 2025, the Phong Dien Commune Veterans Association registered 8 models of skillful mass mobilization and 4 projects and tasks to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025) and the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term towards the 14th National Congress of the Party. The Commune Veterans Association continues to maintain and implement well the models: bringing pictures of Uncle Ho and General Vo Nguyen Giap to hang solemnly in the house; "6 no" club; volunteer veteran team participating in propaganda to maintain traffic safety and order, urban order... The Commune Veterans Association pays attention to taking care of the lives of its members. Up to now, the Association of War Veterans has mobilized and given gifts to war veterans in difficult circumstances with a total amount of about 100 million VND; awarded scholarships to 9 students who are children of war veterans with a total amount of 62.4 million VND...

The Association of War Veterans at all levels in Can Tho City also coordinated with sectors and organizations to propagate environmental protection, classify waste at source; participated in building a bright - green - clean - beautiful - safe environmental landscape in communes and wards... The Association of War Veterans participated in planting 10,200 mangrove trees to prevent riverbank erosion; planted ornamental flowers on roads with a length of 16.3km; cleared and cleaned up the environmental landscape with a length of 31.5km; patched 2.4km of traffic roads; installed lights and built flagpoles on roads with a total length of 6.7km; built 4 traffic bridges. The Association of War Veterans at all levels coordinated with the Youth Union, Police, and Military to propagate the building of national defense for all people, the movement "Protecting the security of the Fatherland"; patrolled, guarded, received and educated backward youth...

The Standing Committee of the Association of War Veterans in Can Tho City directed all levels of the Association of War Veterans to focus on mobilizing capital sources in the branches and loans from the Bank for Social Policies to help War Veterans develop their family economy ; organize field conferences, replicate and consolidate economic models owned by War Veterans; introduce and provide job counseling for War Veterans and veterans... The City Association of War Veterans coordinated with Hoa Hao - Medic Can Tho General Hospital to organize medical examinations, provide free medicine and give gifts to 500 policy families and War Veterans' members, with a total amount of 332 million VND. Hoa Hao - Medic Can Tho General Hospital received lifelong support for 10 War Veterans with serious illnesses with an amount of 500,000 VND/person/month.

In the coming time, the Association of War Veterans of Can Tho City will continue to consolidate and expand the models of skillful mass mobilization, carry out projects to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day September 2, Party congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party; mobilize support for War Veterans Association members to build new and repair houses; promote the exemplary role of War Veterans in participating in protecting the Party, government and people... Associations at all levels will coordinate to improve the effectiveness of propaganda work and traditional education for the younger generation.
