(NLDO) - The leader of the Department of Science and Technology of Quang Tri province proposed to stop appointing the Director of the Digital Transformation Center because the headquarters is deserted during office hours.
On March 6, Mr. Tran Ngoc Lan, Director of the Department of Science and Technology (KH-CN) of Quang Tri province, sent a document to the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee requesting to temporarily suspend the appointment of the Director of the Digital Transformation Center due to compliance with discipline and administrative discipline.
According to the document, on the occasion of the 115th anniversary of International Women's Day (March 8), the leadership of the Department of Science and Technology of Quang Tri province visited and presented flowers to congratulate a number of the department's public service units, including the Digital Transformation Center.
Although the representative of the grassroots trade union executive committee had announced the specific time, at 7:35 a.m. the same day, when the leaders of this department and the trade union leaders were present at the Digital Transformation Center, most of the officials and employees of this Center were not present (only 1 female employee).

In response to this incident, the Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Quang Tri province severely criticized the leadership of the Digital Transformation Center; requested to rectify discipline and administrative order... At the same time, the collective leadership of the Department of Science and Technology requested the Acting Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province to stop appointing the Director of the Digital Transformation Center.
Regarding the incident, in the afternoon of the same day, Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Hang, Director of the Information Technology Center (now the Digital Transformation Center), sent a written explanation to the Board of Directors of the Department of Science and Technology of Quang Tri province.
Accordingly, the Center said it had not received any notice from the representative of the grassroots Trade Union about the Department of Science and Technology's leadership visiting and presenting flowers. The Department of Science and Technology's leadership visited and presented flowers at 7:26 a.m. and left at 7:30 a.m. the same day.
"At 6:30 to 7:30, 5 officials and workers came to work and from 7:30 to 7:38, 9 more officials came to work (with camera footage attached...)", the explanation document of the leader of this Center stated.
Faced with this incident, the Center's Board of Directors has learned a profound lesson and has rectified discipline, administrative order, and strictly followed working hours for all officers and employees according to the direction of the Department Director.
The Digital Transformation Center has just been transferred from the Department of Information and Communications of Quang Tri province to the Department of Science and Technology after the merger of the two departments. The entire Center has 15 staff members and has not yet appointed a new director after the merger.
