Dong Nai proposes adding 1 station for North-South high-speed railway

(Dan Tri) - Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee proposed to add a passenger station in Xuan Hoa commune (former Xuan Loc district) to the North-South high-speed railway project dossier.

On August 7, a representative of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee said that the province has just sent a document to the Ministry of Construction regarding the addition of a high-speed railway station on the North-South axis through the area.

The document clearly states that the design of only one passenger terminal in the Long Thanh International Airport area is not suitable. Meanwhile, the eastern area of Dong Nai province in Xuan Loc, Xuan Phu, Xuan Hoa communes has great potential for socio -economic development, large land fund and a strategic location in connecting Dong Nai with the South Central Coast provinces via National Highway 1A and Dau Giay - Phan Thiet Expressway, so an additional passenger terminal is needed.

The Provincial People's Committee proposed that the Ministry of Construction consider and approve the policy of assigning the Railway Project Management Board (Ministry of Construction) to coordinate with the consulting unit to study and add 1 passenger station in Xuan Hoa commune, Dong Nai province (former Xuan Loc district) to the dossier of the North-South high-speed railway project. The location of the passenger station in Xuan Hoa commune ensures the distance to arrange 1 more passenger station according to regulations.

The proposed area to build an additional passenger terminal in Xuan Hoa commune is near Chua Chan mountain, one of the eco-tourism and resort complexes that has just been approved by the Dong Nai Provincial People's Council.

According to the People's Committee of Dong Nai province, the project dossier of the North-South high-speed railway project, the section through Dong Nai province, is 82km long, with planned locations for passenger stations, cargo stations, and maintenance stations including: 1 passenger station at Long Thanh International Airport; 1 cargo station in Trang Bom commune; 2 technical maintenance stations in Xuan Hoa commune and Xuan Duong commune.
