News, pepper price forecast tomorrow August 9, 2025
A recent report by the International Pepper Community (IPC) shows that major pepper producing countries in the world such as Vietnam, Brazil and Indonesia are demonstrating different but complementary export models, creating stability for the global pepper market.
Vietnam, despite a favorable crop, proactively regulated exports in the first half of 2025. This decline in net exports is considered by IPC to be a strategy of holding inventories to cope with market fluctuations.
The carryover of inventories shows that Vietnam has flexibility in supply in the coming months, an important factor in stabilizing global markets when prices can fluctuate sharply.
Meanwhile, Brazil has shown a quick response to the market. The country recorded strong export growth in the first half of 2025, thanks to effective exploitation of price differences in the international market. Despite the increase in exports, inventories in Brazil are still considered low, as evidenced by the fact that the country's pepper export prices remained stable while Vietnamese pepper prices adjusted sharply downward in June. The upcoming harvest in Brazil, expected to begin in September, will be the main supply factor in the final months of the year.
Indonesia also recorded an impressive 30% increase in export volume in the first half of 2025, mainly due to early sales and contract execution from the 2024 harvest. However, similar to Brazil, Indonesia's export supply is currently limited due to strong domestic demand and consumption.
Overall, the outlook for pepper prices in the coming time is likely to remain stable at a high level. Producing countries are showing flexibility and clear strategies in managing supply.
Inventories in major producing countries such as Vietnam are acting as a “shock absorber” for the market, while supplies from the upcoming Brazilian harvest and strong domestic demand in Brazil and Indonesia will continue to support prices.
