The Kim Dong - Giai Phong tunnel project (Hoang Mai district, Hanoi) has completed about 50% of the volume according to schedule and is entering a new phase of construction.
The Kim Dong - Giai Phong underpass project (Hoang Mai district) has a total tunnel and approach road length of about 890 m, with an investment of 778 billion VND, and will be implemented from October 2022 by the Hanoi City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board as the investor.
The project has a scale of 4 lanes, the total length of the tunnel and approach road is 890 m in the direction of Ring Road 2.5, of which the closed tunnel is 140 m long, the open tunnel is 320 m long. The section through the tunnel has 2 lanes each way, 3.5 m wide/lane, the section outside the tunnel has 3 lanes each way, 3.5 m wide/lane. Currently, the fencing to construct the underpass makes traffic through here difficult even during non-rush hours.
After 2 years of construction, the Kim Dong - Giai Phong underpass construction site (Hoang Mai district, Hanoi) has begun to take shape.
At the construction site, many workers are busy constructing the closed and open tunnel areas in the direction of Kim Dong - Giai Phong street.
The representative of the Kim Dong Tunnel Management Board said that after 2 years of construction, the project has completed 50% of the volume according to schedule. In which, the Dam Hong tunnel has basically completed the access road, open tunnel, and tunnel structure.
On Kim Dong Street, workers are installing the steel structure of the body to pour concrete.
According to plan, Kim Dong - Giai Phong underpass will be completed in 2025. This is the 5th underpass in the capital built from 2009 to present, after Kim Lien - Xa Dan, Trung Hoa, Thanh Xuan, and Le Van Luong underpasses.
In the coming time, when the 35kV power line in the railway is relocated, the contractor will deploy temporary bridge and rail works to serve the main structure of the tunnel.
