Coach Polking: 'We are ready to win another title'

Before the National Super Cup match, coach Mano Polking and midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai affirmed that CAHN had prepared carefully and were determined to start the new season with a championship.

"Brandon Ly and the other new players are adapting very quickly. The training atmosphere is very positive, and now it's just a matter of perfecting the right tactics. Everyone is excited about the big match, strong opponents, beautiful stadium and great audience. Hopefully this will be an exciting match and an opportunity for us to win another title," coach Mano Polking shared at a press conference before the National Super Cup match on the afternoon of August 8.

The Brazilian-German coach said that before accepting to lead CAHN, he carefully researched and discussed a lot with the leadership. "I know many players well, especially national players like Quang Hai, Van Thanh, Viet Anh... Having faced them before, now being able to coach them is an interesting challenge. Living in Vietnam, in Hanoi , I feel very happy. The team is making clear progress, which is very important for a coach," he continued.

The CAHN coach stressed that the team needs titles to meet expectations and affirm its position. "Hopefully tomorrow will be the next title. There are many arenas this season and I believe the team is strong enough to conquer them all. We want to bring joy to the leaders and fans. Football is happiness, and we will try to create more reasons for everyone to celebrate," he added.

Evaluating the Super Cup match, Coach Polking said that this is a special challenge: "Tomorrow's match is completely different from the V.League. Both teams have new players. In the previous meeting, we won 3-0 but the opponent also had many opportunities. Tomorrow will be difficult, especially when they have tens of thousands of fans cheering. However, we have prepared carefully, have a clear plan, specific tactics and confidence to win."

Midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai is confident of bringing the championship trophy back to Hanoi.

Like coach Polking, midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai affirmed that this is a special moment for him personally and the CAHN team. "This will be a memorable match for the whole team. This season of CAHN will be very different, and for me, this is the beginning of an even more successful season. Everyone has high expectations," Quang Hai said.

The midfielder born in 1997 highly appreciated the quality of the new recruits. "They bring a fresh atmosphere and create healthy competition. I believe the more good players, the better the team spirit. I can't predict the result yet, but I'm looking forward to the match," he concluded.

The National Super Cup will take place at 5:00 p.m. on August 9 at Thien Truong Stadium.
