To widely disseminate knowledge about the history of building and defending the country of the Vietnamese people; the traditions of the People's Army and the Vietnam Coast Guard in building and protecting the country; and the provisions of Vietnamese and international laws on seas and islands.
Raising awareness for teachers and students; building patriotism, love for the homeland's sea and islands and awareness and responsibility of all citizens for the cause of building and protecting territorial sovereignty , maintaining security, order and safety in the seas and islands of the Fatherland.
On the afternoon of November 17, the Coast Guard Region 3 Command and the Department of Education and Training of La Gi town organized and opened the 2023 "I love my homeland's sea and islands" contest at secondary schools in La Gi town.
The contest has the participation of 10 middle schools in the area with more than 7 thousand students registered to participate. It is organized into 2 rounds. Online round and live final round. The contest is held from 15:00 on November 17 to 24:00 on November 20, 2023.
The contest content is to learn about basic knowledge about Vietnam's seas and islands; about the Vietnam People's Army and Coast Guard; regulations of Vietnamese and international laws on seas and islands such as:
International Convention on the Law of the Sea 1982, Vietnam Law on the Sea 2012, Fisheries Law 2017, Vietnam Coast Guard Law 2018, Law on Prevention of Drug Crimes and the Harmful Effects of Drugs on Schools, contents on prevention and control of school violence, on the history of national and local traditions of building and defending the country.
The content of the exam must be universal, practical, suitable for students' level of legal knowledge and closely follow the purpose of the exam.
Students of secondary schools in the area were very enthusiastic and excited to participate. This was considered a large-scale political study and activity in the whole school as well as the entire education sector of La Gi town.
