"Standing in front of the house facing the Thach Han River, looking at the ceiling carved with hammer and sickle and listening to the childhood stories of General Secretary Le Duan, I slowed down to feel more deeply about a great life."
The memorial site of General Secretary Le Duan was built and renovated with a total cost of 45 billion VND on the bank of Thach Han River.

That is the sharing of Ms. Nguyet Kieu (30 years old, residing in Dong Ha Ward, Quang Tri ), when she had the opportunity to visit the General Secretary Le Duan Memorial Site. Here, in 2 rooms displaying the relics and documents of the late General Secretary, Ms. Kieu had a special experience - as if she had just read the journey of the outstanding leader, the outstanding son of her homeland Quang Tri.
Ms. Kieu slowly walked through each image and souvenir divided into 3 themes and displayed inside the General Secretary Le Duan Memorial Area.

Invested in for renovation and construction with a total budget of 45 billion VND, the General Secretary Le Duan Memorial Area is located on the bank of Thach Han, right at the location where nearly a century ago, the young man Le Van Nhuan (aka General Secretary Le Duan) boarded a boat to leave his homeland to participate in patriotic activities.
2 houses, 3 themes about the life of the late General Secretary
The new General Secretary Le Duan Memorial Site was inaugurated in April 2025 in Trieu Phong Commune, Quang Tri (formerly Trieu Thanh Commune, Trieu Phong District, old Quang Tri) right next to the old memorial site.
The building bears the mark of traditional Vietnamese architecture, with overlapping red tiled roofs, imposing wooden columns and elaborate reliefs. The open space in front, dotted with flowers and grass, creates a solemn yet intimate atmosphere.

However, that is just the usual appearance of a memorial site. What is special and leaves an impression on visitors when they set foot here is the journey through each stage of the revolutionary activities of General Secretary Le Duan.
Heading inside the memorial area, right in front of you is the chapel with a bronze statue of General Secretary Le Duan. The most prominent feature is the ceiling covered with plastic panels engraved with the hammer and sickle symbol and has lighting.
The old memorial area is located next to the new memorial area, this is where General Secretary Le Duan lived during his childhood.

On the left and right are two rooms displaying relics, documents, and images, arranged into three themes: "Youth, belief, and revolutionary ideals"; "Le Duan, a staunch communist soldier, an outstanding leader, a great creative thinker of the Vietnamese revolution"; "Le Duan in the heart of the homeland and international friends".
"I was fascinated by the way the relics and documents were displayed. In just 30 minutes of visiting and feeling, I was able to imagine a journey from a poor childhood to becoming an outstanding leader of the late General Secretary Le Duan," Ms. Kieu shared.
The two houses on both sides are where documents and images are displayed, with each topic clearly written on them about the revolutionary activities of General Secretary Le Duan.
