Authorities promptly rescued the clam raft from the fire.
Secretary of Vinh Hanh Commune Party Committee Ho Truong Huan visited and presented support money to Nguyen Van Lanh's family.
Initial information, at around 6pm on July 8, Mr. Nguyen Van Lanh organized a drinking party at his house. Then, he went to Mr. Huynh Van Kich's house about 100m away to continue drinking, locking the door when leaving. At 8:54pm on the same day, people around discovered a fire in Mr. Lanh's house, so they called the commune police.
Upon receiving the news, Vinh Hanh Commune Police deployed forces and fire fighting equipment to the scene to coordinate with local forces to fight the fire, and at the same time called the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of An Giang Provincial Police for support.
At the scene of the fire, the house was locked, the fire spread quickly, and smoke engulfed the entire house. While controlling and extinguishing the fire to prevent it from spreading to surrounding areas, the fire brigade discovered Mr. Lanh’s child in the house, panicking because he was trapped in the fire.
Immediately, the fire and rescue team and people broke the door, rushed into the fire and brought the child out safely.
At around 10:50 p.m., the fire was brought under control and completely extinguished. The fire completely destroyed Mr. Lanh’s house and many other properties, and the authorities are continuing to count the damage.
The boy rescued from the fire by the rescue force only suffered minor burns and was taken to the hospital for treatment. His health is now stable.
On the same afternoon, Secretary of Vinh Hanh Commune Party Committee Ho Truong Huan visited and presented 3 million VND to support Mr. Lanh's family to help overcome difficulties.
