Hung Yen province car license plate revealed to be auctioned with starting price of 500 million VND

On August 13, car license plate 89A-567.89 (Hung Yen province) will be auctioned again for the second time with a starting price of VND 500 million according to the provisions of Article 6 of Decree 156/2024/ND-CP.

On August 8, a representative of Vietnam Partnership Auction Company (VPA) - the online license plate auction organizer said that it will coordinate with the Traffic Police Department ( Ministry of Public Security ) to organize an auction of 50,000 motorbike license plates and 10,000 car license plates on August 13, 2025.

Car license plate 89A-567.89 ( Hung Yen province) will be auctioned again after the second time with a starting price of 500 million VND.

Notably, in the list of car license plates, there is a license plate of Hung Yen province with the license plate number: 89A-567.89, which will be auctioned again for the second time, with a starting price of 500 million VND. This price is based on Article 6 of Decree 156/2024/ND-CP.

On the same day, a series of "five-of-a-kind" license plates of motorbikes and scooters will also appear in the auction such as: 29AE-666.66, 36AB-666.66, 24AA-444.44 and 69AB-111.11...

According to statistics from the Ministry of Public Security, since the first license plate auction took place (September 15, 2023) to date, the total amount of money that auction winners have paid to the State budget is more than 5,200 billion VND.

Of these, there are more than 11,300 car license plates with a total value of over 1,200 billion VND and more than 23,300 motorbike license plates worth about 387 billion VND; about 830 billion VND is the total amount that the auction winner has paid to the State budget.

The auction of car license plates takes place publicly and transparently; each individual can ask someone else to bid on their behalf using their account, and each person is not limited to the number of license plates they want to auction.

The starting price of a car license plate put up for auction is 40 million VND, increasing every three years from January 1, 2025 by 5 million VND each time. The starting price of a motorcycle license plate put up for auction is 5 million VND, increasing every three years by 1 million VND each time.
