The capsized, ownerless barge drifted freely on the waters of Quang Ngai, posing a danger to other boats and vehicles.
On November 25, Binh Thanh Border Guard Station - Quang Ngai Border Guard Command said that it had just discovered an overturned barge drifting at sea in Binh Thanh commune, Binh Son district.

Currently, the Dung Quat sea area has big waves and strong winds, so authorities have not been able to approach to determine the specific type of barge and whether there are goods or people inside.
According to the records, the barge capsized, the bottom floating above the water, the deck submerged below. The barge is about 8m long, about 4m wide. The back part has many crisscrossed ropes.
It is known that the location where the capsized drifting barge was discovered is in Dung Quat sea area, an area where ships frequently enter and exit Dung Quat port to import and export goods, so there is a risk of waves pushing the barge back out to sea, affecting maritime safety.
Previously, authorities also discovered three metal tanks suspected of containing chemicals drifting in Dung Quat sea area. Authorities approached and used ropes to anchor them to shore.
