17-year-old talent Jolie Lam wins World Pickleball Championship 2025

VHO - Tennis player Jolie Lam (real name Lien Ngo Chung Thien Lam) continues to show her great potential when she won the World Pickleball Championship 2025 held in Malaysia. This is the second consecutive prestigious championship title for the 17-year-old tennis player in just 1 week.

The World Pickleball Championship (WPC) is an international pickleball tournament series, especially in the Asia- Pacific region.

The WPC Asia Pickleball Grand Slam 2025 tournament took place in Malaysia from July 16 to 20, bringing together more than 1,500 athletes from more than 20 countries and territories with a total prize value of nearly 22,000 USD (more than 575 million VND).

The tournament is considered an outstanding international playground, promoting the pickleball movement to develop more strongly in Asia.

Notably, in the women's doubles 4.5+ event that ended on the evening of July 20, young Vietnamese tennis player Jolie Lam and her teammate Christine Vong (Malaysia) excellently won the championship.

After passing the group stage, Jolie Lam/Christine Vong won overwhelmingly with a score of 15-6 against Patricia Pantangco and Patricia Raymundo (Philippines) in the quarter-finals.

In the semi-finals, Jolie Lam and her teammates went through a tense match, only able to decide by a close score of 21-20 against Kwan Wun Man (Hong Kong, China) and Yung-Hsin Tseng (Chinese Taipei).

In the decisive match, Jolie Lam/Christine Vong showed their strong fighting spirit, winning with a score of 21-18 against two veteran doubles players from the host country, Sieu Ee Toi and Delia Arnold, to win the prestigious Championship Cup.

Notably, this is Jolie Lam's second consecutive prestigious championship in just 1 week.

Previously, at the Asia Pickleball Junior Open 2025 tournament that ended on July 15 in Quang Nam , the tennis player born in 2008 was crowned in the U18 women's doubles event.

Jolie Lam is considered the most promising young talent in the Vietnamese female pickleball community today.

The tennis player born in 2008 stands out with his height of 1m7 and his abundant physical strength thanks to his tennis playing experience.

Having been familiar with tennis since the age of 12, Jolie Lam has made remarkable progress with 3 titles in national youth tournaments in 2024.

Although she has only been playing pickleball for about 5 months, Jolie Lam already has an impressive collection of titles and is a familiar face on the podium at major pickleball tournaments in Vietnam.
