Create a

Vaccination to protect livestock.

In recent years, Thanh Hoa province has faced epidemics in livestock and poultry such as avian influenza, African swine fever, lumpy skin disease... Most of the time when an outbreak is detected, the authorities quickly direct the zoning and containment of the outbreak and for many years no dangerous epidemics have occurred. However, Thanh Hoa is a locality with a large herd, while livestock farming conditions in many localities are still small-scale, the risk of epidemics is always present.

Because the agricultural sector recommends that localities implement disease prevention and control work year-round, people have become more aware of environmental protection, regularly spray disinfectants; boldly invest in changing livestock farming methods, applying science and technology... Along with that, departments, branches, and units have also been proactive in disease surveillance, quarantine, management of animal transportation and slaughter; increased organization of monitoring samples to promptly detect and warn of disease risks in the province... Therefore, diseases are well controlled.

Along with measures to prevent, control and treat epidemics, vaccination is considered a "wall" to protect livestock from dangerous infectious diseases. In the first months of 2025, localities in the province have completed the first vaccination plan of 2025 and continued to implement the "Peak year of rabies vaccination for dogs and cats and gradually control rabies in Thanh Hoa province in 2025". Along with that, the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine has allocated 16,300 liters of chemicals and directed, guided, organized and implemented sanitation and disinfection work.

According to the Director of the Agricultural Service Center of Trieu Son District, Nguyen Dinh Phuong, “using vaccines is one of the most proactive and effective disease prevention measures for livestock. When livestock and poultry are properly vaccinated with all types of vaccines, the animals' bodies will create active immunity to prevent the outbreak and spread of diseases. Therefore, for localities with many livestock farms, we seriously carry out the work of reviewing the total herd, especially for dogs and cats, which must be updated daily, have a monitoring book, detailed statistics for each household and have confirmation from the village head, residential group, to ensure 100% vaccination coverage. In communes and towns, the center sends staff to regularly inspect and supervise the vaccination technical process, promptly grasp and correct errors in vaccination; perform vaccination according to the rolling method to avoid omissions. Due to regular propaganda about the effectiveness of vaccines, most local people are aware, "Proactively carry out vaccination".

With the close guidance of departments, branches and localities, pig farmers have also been proactive in implementing disease prevention measures. According to Mr. Nguyen Quoc Tuan, a pig farmer in Thach Dong commune (Thach Thanh), "in addition to the support of the locality, I have proactively invested in building a solid farm with automatic feeding and drinking troughs; especially building a biogas tank to treat waste; planting more fruit trees to create shade and landscape, and reduce odors caused by livestock activities. Along with that, limit people entering and exiting the barn, in front of each row of barns there must be a disinfection pit, periodically disinfect and sterilize livestock equipment and livestock areas".

Thanks to the synchronous implementation of solutions, livestock and poultry diseases in the first months of 2025 were well controlled. In the last 6 months of 2025, the livestock and veterinary sectors will continue to carry out tasks on disease prevention. In particular, the focus is on a number of solutions such as preparing conditions to be ready to control and suppress outbreaks as soon as they appear, especially dangerous diseases such as African swine fever, lumpy skin disease in cattle, rabies... In addition, well organizing the implementation of rabies vaccination for dogs, cats and livestock and poultry in the second phase of 2025 to ensure compliance with time and regulations...
