Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 31 vowed to continue reforms, focusing on high and stable growth policies, to realize the dream of a developed country, and affirmed that "this determination will only get stronger" in his third term.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of The Economic Times World Leadership Forum, Prime Minister Modi described the third decade of the 21st century as “India’s decade of progress” and sought support from business leaders to continue the country’s growth story.
According to Prime Minister Modi, “By 2047, we are committed to making India a developed nation. We want more and more Indian companies to emerge as global brands. We want India to be a leader in every sector. Our promise is to facilitate, you promise to innovate.
Our promise is reform, you promise to deliver. Our promise is to deliver on stability, you promise positive disruption. Our promise is to focus on high growth, you promise high quality. Think big, together we must write many success stories.”
Rejecting suggestions that the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had fewer members in the lower house of parliament than in the previous term, Prime Minister Modi said: “I can only assure you that the resolve (for reform) will be stronger and like our citizens, the government is full of hope and confidence.”
