The 2025 World Championship homepage announced the preliminary list of 32 teams participating in the tournament, including the Vietnamese women's volleyball team. Head coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet will narrow down the list to 14 players before the Vietnamese women's volleyball team leaves for Thailand to participate in the tournament. Most likely, the eliminated players will be the libero and the main attacker, positions that are highly competitive.

The 2025 FIVB Women's World Championship will take place from August 22 to September 7, 2025 in Thailand. This year's tournament has 32 participating teams, up from 24 in previous editions, with a format including a group stage and a knockout round. Serbia is the defending champion.

The Vietnamese women's volleyball team is in Group G with Poland, Germany and Kenya. Group G matches are scheduled to take place in Phuket.
