(Chinhphu.vn) - In the first 6 months of 2025, nearly 75,000 Vietnamese workers went to work abroad under contracts, reaching more than 57% of the yearly plan. Traditional markets continued to remain stable while many new markets also recorded positive results, showing a positive signal in sending Vietnamese workers abroad.

According to the Department of Overseas Labor Management ( Ministry of Home Affairs ), in June 2025, the whole country had 13,060 workers working abroad under contracts. Of which, female workers accounted for a significant proportion with 4,650 people.

From the beginning of the year to the end of June, 74,691 Vietnamese workers have gone to work abroad under contracts, including 25,617 female workers. This result is equivalent to 57.4% of the 2025 plan (target of 130,000 workers), creating a positive foundation to expect to complete, even exceed the target in the second half of the year.

Japan continues to be the largest labor market for Vietnam, with 35,240 workers in the first 6 months of the year. Taiwan (China) ranked second with 28,206 workers, while South Korea ranked third with 5,650 workers. These are traditional, stable markets with high recruitment demand, good income and guaranteed working conditions, thus always attracting a large number of Vietnamese workers.

In addition to the traditional markets mentioned above, some other markets also recorded remarkable results such as China with 1,478 workers, Singapore with 1,100 workers, Hungary with 572 workers and Romania with 400 workers. The continued maintenance of positive results in these markets is a testament to the effectiveness of market expansion and industry diversification policies in recent times.

Not only focusing on quantity, the work of improving the quality of human resources and ensuring the rights of workers is also given special attention. Activities of checking and supervising the selection, training and dispatch of workers are implemented synchronously to improve the quality of human resources, ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of workers.

Exchange and cooperation activities with countries and territories in need of receiving workers have also been enhanced, contributing to expanding the market, diversifying industries and improving the efficiency of sending Vietnamese workers to work abroad in the coming time.

Sending workers to work abroad not only helps to solve employment problems and increase income, but also contributes to improving the quality of national human resources, promoting technology transfer, work experience and international integration.

In the coming time, the Ministry of Home Affairs will continue to closely follow the Government 's direction, synchronously deploy solutions to complete the 2025 plan targets, while improving efficiency, sustainability and safety in sending Vietnamese workers to work abroad under contracts.
