Condolences on the passing of former Chinese Premier Li Keqiang

Upon hearing the news that Comrade Li Keqiang, former member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China Central Committee of the 17th, 18th, and 19th tenures, and former Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, had passed away, on October 30, 2023, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Vo Van Thuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and Chairman of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue sent condolences to General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping, Premier of the State Council of China Li Qiang, Chairman of the National People's Congress of China Zhao Leji, and the family of Comrade Li Keqiang.

The condolence message affirmed that Comrade Li Keqiang was an outstanding leader of the Party and State of China, who made great contributions to the successful implementation of the “First Centenary” goal, the comprehensive building of a moderately prosperous society in China, and made important contributions to the development of friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries, especially promoting the deepening of the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and China in the new era. The Party, State and people of Vietnam always appreciate Comrade Li Keqiang’s contributions to the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries.

On the same day, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son also sent a message of condolences to Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
