On the morning of November 18, storm Man-Yi continued to move northwest at a speed of 15-20km per hour. It is expected that today, storm Man-Yi will enter the East Sea, becoming the ninth storm of 2024.

After entering the East Sea and encountering cold air, storm Man-Yi is expected to decrease in intensity but still be very strong. At 1 p.m. on November 18, the center of storm Man-Yi was about 640 km from the Hoang Sa archipelago with strong winds of level 11-12, gusting to level 14.

To proactively respond to the storm's developments, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Hoang Hiep signed a telegram to ministries, branches, and Chairmen of People's Committees of coastal provinces from Quang Ninh to Binh Thuan, requesting focused response.

The key tasks in the coming hours are to closely monitor the storm's developments; manage vessels at sea; organize a count of ships and boats; notify owners of vessels and captains of ships and boats operating at sea of the location, direction of movement and developments of the storm so that they can proactively avoid, escape or not move into dangerous areas.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development also requested ministries, branches and localities to prepare forces and means for rescue when requested. Media agencies from central to local levels should strengthen measures to inform authorities and people about the storm's developments so that they can proactively prevent and respond promptly and effectively.
