Hue female student wins the most prestigious scholarship of the Irish government

Huynh Thi Nhat Linh, a bachelor of marketing from the University of Economics, Hue University, is one of 60 outstanding faces in the world to win the prestigious scholarship of the Irish government in 2025.

On August 7, information from the University of Economics , Hue University said that Huynh Thi Nhat Linh, a bachelor of marketing, has just received a scholarship from the Irish government (GOI-IES) in 2025. This is one of the most prestigious and competitive scholarships in the world with a selection rate of less than 1% globally.

The Government of Ireland International Education Scholarships (GOI-IES) is a prestigious scholarship programme for outstanding international students wishing to pursue Masters or PhD studies at Irish universities. The scholarship supports talented international students with excellent academic records to study in Ireland, thereby promoting personal development and building international networks. Approximately 60 scholarships are awarded each year to students from countries outside the European Union (EU).

Linh won a scholarship covering full tuition and living expenses worth 10,000 euros for a master's program in Ireland.

In addition, this female student also won the Hungarian Agreement Scholarship (Stipendium Hungaricum), which comes with support from Vietnam such as airfare, visa fees, passport and monthly allowance.

After careful consideration, Linh chose to pursue a master's degree at South East Technological University (SETU) - one of the leading training centers in Ireland.

According to the University of Economics, Hue University, Huynh Thi Nhat Linh was an outstanding student in both academics and extracurricular activities during her time at the school. With a grade point average (GPA) of 3.5/4.0 (cumulative grade point average) and an IELTS certificate of 7.0, Nhat Linh has many times taken on the role of bilingual MC at major school and city-level events such as: Hue Z Speech Contest (2024), Vietnam - Thailand Student Cultural Exchange (2023), Hue Festival (2022)...

This female student also owns a series of great achievements in competitions such as: Top 3 excellent videos at the communication contest about Phuoc Tich Ancient Village 2023; Promising MC at the Golden Micro 2022 contest organized by the school; received a scholarship to encourage learning for the 2022-2023 school year for the Top 10 best students in the whole industry.

Sharing her feelings about receiving the prestigious scholarship, Linh said: "I am very happy and grateful to receive the Irish government scholarship. This is a memorable milestone in my journey of learning and personal development. At the end of this month, I will leave for Ireland and start a new chapter at South East Technological University. I hope to learn a lot and bring valuable experiences back to contribute to my homeland."
