Quang Nam will form 4 new urban areas

By 2025, Quang Nam province will upgrade two urban areas, Nam Phuoc and Ha Lam, to type IV urban areas; at the same time, form four new urban areas, namely Duy Nghia - Duy Hai, Binh Minh, Dai Hiep, and Tam Dan.

The planning of Quang Nam province for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, approved by the Prime Minister , clearly defines the urban system planning scheme in the province.

According to the Plan, Quang Nam province will develop green, ecological urban areas, associated with landscapes and natural environments, with a synchronous, modern and smart urban technical infrastructure system.

At the same time, plan and invest in the construction of important public institutions such as squares, green parks, thematic parks; entertainment and sports areas for all ages.

Quang Nam province will harmoniously combine urban development with promoting regional development linkages. Improve the quality of urbanization associated with increasing urban economic efficiency; synchronously upgrade economic, technical, social infrastructure, architectural works, housing, and people's quality of life. Develop urban areas that adapt to climate change, grow green, smart, and rich in identity, becoming a driving force and new development space.

The plan also identifies investment in urban expansion at district-level administrative centers, linking with the inter-regional transport network, focusing on the quality of urban services. Research and adjust the general planning of Chu Lai Open Economic Zone to suit actual development needs, improve economic efficiency and urban landscape.

By 2025, Quang Nam province will form 4 new urban areas: Duy Nghia - Duy Hai, Binh Minh, Dai Hiep, Tam Dan.

According to the Plan, by 2025, Quang Nam province will upgrade the two urban areas of Nam Phuoc and Ha Lam to type IV urban areas. The four newly formed urban areas are Duy Nghia - Duy Hai, Binh Minh, Dai Hiep, Tam Dan; the urbanization rate reaches over 37%.

The goal by 2030 is to upgrade Hoi An to a type II urban area; Dien Ban Town to a type III urban area; Ai Nghia Town to a type IV urban area. At the same time, two new urban areas, Viet An and Kiem Lam, will be formed; the urbanization rate will reach over 40%.

Tam Ky city is a type II urban area. It is expected to merge Tam Ky city and Nui Thanh district in the period of 2026 - 2030, with the orientation of developing into a type I urban area.

Meanwhile, Dien Ban Town will be upgraded to the administrative level of a city by 2030. Duy Xuyen District, by 2030, Nam Phuoc urban area will expand to connect with Duy Nghia - Duy Hai urban area, Kiem Lam urban area and neighboring communes will be upgraded to the administrative level of Duy Xuyen town.

Thang Binh district by 2030, Ha Lam urban area will expand to connect with Binh Minh urban area and neighboring communes, upgraded to the administrative level of Thang Binh town.

The urban areas of Tac Po and To Vieng town will be administratively established as towns in the period 2021 - 2025. The urban areas of Tam Dan and Dai Hiep will be administratively established as towns in the period 2026 - 2030...
