The New York Times reported on October 12 that the US Coast Guard (USCG) has just found objects believed to be the remains of victims of the Titan submersible that crashed while exploring the wreck of the Titanic nearly four months ago.

Accordingly, engineers from the USCG Marine Investigation Division also found more debris from the submersible at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean last week. The USCG provided images showing the intact titanium cone of the 6.7-meter-long submersible.

It is known that human bodies and debris from the Titan ship are scattered at a depth of 3,800m, about 488m from the legendary Titanic wreck.

"Human remains have been carefully recovered from within the wreckage of the Titan and are being analyzed by US medical experts," the USCG said.

Investigators have been analyzing and examining material recovered from the Titan submersible since late June. The USCG said it will continue to review new evidence and interview witnesses in preparation for the public hearing.

The Titan submersible, owned by OceanGate Expeditions, took five people to explore the wreck of the Titanic on June 18.

The five people on board included Mr. Stockton Rush (61 years old), CEO of OceanGate Expeditions and also the captain of the Titan; British billionaire Hamish Harding (59 years old); British billionaire father and son of Pakistani origin Shahzada Dawood (48 years old) and his son Suleman (19 years old); and famous French oceanographer and expert on the Titanic Paul-Henri Nargeolet (77 years old).

However, after diving to the bottom of the North Atlantic Ocean for about 1 hour and 45 minutes, the ship lost contact.

On June 22, searchers found debris and later confirmed that the Titan had exploded. All five people on board the Titan were killed.

The legendary Titanic sank at a depth of 3,800m off the coast of Newfoundland, Canada in 1912. At the time of the accident, the Titanic was carrying 2,224 passengers and crew. More than 1,500 of them died. The Titanic wreck was found at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean by the US Navy in 1985 and has since become a popular tourist destination for adventure seekers.
