On February 6, the UK and France hosted a conference in London, bringing together government representatives from 35 countries, along with business leaders and technology companies, to discuss the issue of hired hackers and the market for cyber attack tools.

Finding solutions to deal with hackers for hire

Tech companies such as Apple, BAE Systems, Google and Microsoft sent representatives to the two-day conference.

At the conference, the parties focused on discussing ways to deal with this problem, especially the "market" for exchanging cyber attack tools as well as the threat to international security, human rights and the stability of cyberspace.

According to the UK National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), hackers for hire can lead to risks such as corporate espionage or state spying services and tools that threaten national security.

According to British Deputy Prime Minister Oliver Dowden, in the context of the increasing risk from the use of cyber tools for malicious purposes, there is a need for coordination between like-minded partners to address this cross-border issue.
