Brazilian media reports extensively on Prime Minister's activities in Rio de Janeiro

Brazilian media reported on the meeting between Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and President Lula da Silva in Rio de Janeiro.

On July 5, major Brazilian newspapers simultaneously reported that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh held talks with President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva in Rio de Janeiro city within the framework of his visit to the South American country to attend the 2025 BRICS Summit.

The Brazilian government newspaper Planalto reported that at the talks, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and President Lula da Silva expressed their delight at the good bilateral relationship, as well as the progress achieved since President Lula's state visit to Hanoi last April.

The Brazilian government newspaper also emphasized that both sides welcomed the completion of the first shipment of Brazilian beef exported to Vietnam and the first shipment of Vietnamese tilapia exported to Brazil.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized the importance of investments from Brazil in Vietnam, especially in the field of food processing from animal protein.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and President Lula da Silva emphasized the potential for cooperation between the two countries in the fields of agriculture, defense, sports, mining, biofuels and the environment.

President Lula reaffirmed Brazil's desire, as rotating President of Mercosur, to initiate negotiations on a trade agreement with Vietnam.

According to Planalto, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and President Lula da Silva both affirmed the importance of enhancing integration and complementarity between the two economies.

The two sides pledged to promptly organize business delegations to expand opportunities for bilateral trade and investment cooperation.

Within the framework of the meeting, the two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in science, technology, innovation and digital transformation.

The Vietnamese Prime Minister wished Brazil success in organizing the 30th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30) and affirmed that Vietnam will attend the event, scheduled to take place in Belém city, Pará state, this November.
