Request to overcome shortcomings on Cam Lam - Vinh Hao expressway

On June 25, information from the Road Management Office IV.1, Vietnam Road Administration (Ministry of Construction) said that the unit coordinated with Cam Lam - Vinh Hao Expressway Joint Stock Company and related units to inspect and discover a number of shortcomings on the Cam Lam - Vinh Hao Expressway (passing through 3 provinces of Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan).

Specifically, at Cam Lam - Vinh Hao toll station (Km133+750, from Cam Lam to Phan Thiet), the inspection team found that flexible pillars and lane markings had been installed at the station; speed limit signs were installed in the area before entering the toll station.

However, traffic collisions often occur in this area, especially when vehicles run out of money in their VETC accounts and cannot stop in time, leading to collisions with the toll station barrier.

The inspection team requested the project enterprise to add evenly spaced speed bumps from Km133+600 - Km133+700; move sign P.127 (maximum speed allowed 60km/h) at Km133+450 to Km133+200; move sign P.127 (maximum speed allowed 70km/h) at Km133+200 to Km132+950.

Checking at the Km112+900 rest stop on the Cam Lam - Vinh Hao expressway which is temporarily in operation, Cam Lam - Vinh Hao Expressway Joint Stock Company (the unit managing and operating the Cam Lam - Vinh Hao expressway) proposed to temporarily suspend operation for 30 days to carry out repairs, upgrades, add food services, vehicle repair and maintenance...

Regarding this issue, the inspection team requested Cam Lam - Vinh Hao Expressway Joint Stock Company to publicly disclose information and operation stoppage time on mass media so that people and vehicles participating in traffic know and are proactive in moving; requested the project enterprise to complete legal procedures and organization work to ensure traffic safety for people and vehicles, and submit to the Vietnam Road Administration for consideration and approval.

Previously, on June 25, SGGP Newspaper published an article “Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressway: Peeling roads, “deserted” rest stops”, reflecting many shortcomings on the route with a total investment of more than 10,000 billion VND.
