Doctors warn of traffic accidents caused by sun protection clothing getting caught in wheels

A few days ago, Ms. TTH (63 years old, residing in Uong Bi City, Quang Ninh) was admitted to the Vietnam - Sweden Uong Bi Hospital with serious injuries due to a motorbike accident. The cause of the accident was that her sun protection shirt got caught in the wheel, causing Ms. H. to fall.

Ms. TTH was hospitalized with a grade 2 open fracture of the lower end of the left radius, skin peeling off the dorsum of the left hand, and spinal compression at the D12 and L1 segments. Doctors performed surgery to treat the patient's injuries.

According to doctors at the Vietnam - Sweden Uong Bi Hospital, this is just one of many cases of patients being hospitalized with serious injuries caused by the use of sun protection clothing.

To limit unfortunate accidents, when participating in traffic, women should choose sun-protective shirts and skirts that are not too long or too loose. When sitting in a car, they should zip up and tuck their shirts neatly so that they do not cover the rear of the car.

When buying a sun-protective shirt, you should not choose a long, one-piece shirt that is inconvenient and unsafe when driving. This type of shirt is long and loose, and can easily get caught in the wheel if you sit in the back, and if you sit in the front, it is inconvenient to brake (for manual transmission) or put your feet down in an emergency.
