On the morning of January 27, Road Management Office III.4 (under Road Management Area III, Vietnam Road Administration) said it was coordinating with functional forces to regulate traffic and resolve congestion at An Khe Pass on National Highway 19, the border section between Binh Dinh and Gia Lai provinces.

According to the Office of Highway Management III.4, at 11:30 p.m. on January 26, a tractor-trailer with license plate 77C - 133.32 pulling a trailer with license plate 77R - 018.47 carrying wood chips in the direction of Gia Lai - Binh Dinh overturned at An Khe pass (in Binh Dinh province), causing traffic congestion.

Tractor trailer overturned causing traffic jam at An Khe pass

Afterwards, the Traffic Police of Binh Dinh Province and the Office of Highway Management III.4 were present at the scene to direct traffic and assist the overturned vehicle to clear the scene.

At around 0:30 on January 27, traffic on National Highway 19 through An Khe Pass was cleared in one lane. By 9:00 on January 27, the tractor-trailer was removed from the scene, but the amount of wood chips spilled onto the road after the overturning truck had not yet been cleared, forcing vehicles traveling through An Khe Pass to move very slowly.

Previously, at 3:00 a.m. on January 25, a heavily loaded tractor-trailer passing through An Khe Pass got stuck in mud and could not move, causing a complete traffic jam. The Road Management Office III.4 and the Traffic Police of Binh Dinh and Gia Lai provinces sent forces to the scene to coordinate with relevant units to handle the incident and regulate traffic. At around 3:45 p.m. on January 25, National Highway 19 through An Khe Pass was reopened to two-way traffic.

Currently, the road section through An Khe Pass is being implemented by the construction unit of the project to enhance traffic connectivity in the Central Highlands region. Meanwhile, due to the rain, the embankment is muddy, making it difficult for heavy trucks to move, leading to congestion.
