Thousands of people attend the opening ceremony of the 10th Da Lat Flower Festival

(CLO) On the evening of December 5, more than 15,000 people and tourists gathered at Lam Vien Square, Da Lat City ( Lam Dong Province) to attend the opening ceremony of the 10th Da Lat Flower Festival, in chilly weather of 17 degrees Celsius.

Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh, leaders of central ministries, branches, international guests and leaders of Lam Dong province attended this event.

Speaking at the ceremony, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh emphasized the role of Da Lat - "City of a Thousand Flowers" - not only as a famous tourist destination with cool climate and beautiful landscapes, but also as a place where unique cultural and architectural values converge.

He highly appreciated the success of the previous nine Flower Festivals and affirmed that this year's festival continues to honor the values of floriculture, promoting the connection between the flower industry and tourism, cultural industry and international integration.

"The 10th Da Lat Flower Festival continues to affirm and honor the values of flowers and floriculture; creating opportunities for the Da Lat flower industry to connect, spread, and develop with the tourism industry, cultural industry and international integration, making an important contribution to the socio-economic development of Lam Dong province," said the Deputy Prime Minister, at the same time requesting Lam Dong province to focus on rationally exploiting natural resources, protecting the environment and promoting sustainable development values in the future.

Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Tran Hong Thai, said that this year's festival inherits the spirit of the previous 9 festivals, while also carrying a message about the strength and aspiration to rise of the 47 ethnic groups in the locality. He emphasized that flowers not only bring economic value but are also a symbol of the resilient spirit and aspiration to contribute of the people of Lam Dong.

The opening night art program left a strong impression with the participation of many famous artists such as Ho Ngoc Ha, Ho Quynh Huong, Van Mai Huong, Ho Trung Dung, The Wings group, Nguyen Ngoc Anh, Rapper Ram C and international artists such as violinist JMIKO from Korea.

The 10th Da Lat Flower Festival will take place from December 5 to December 20, 2024, with many cultural and artistic activities, flower displays and programs honoring the floriculture industry.

The event promises to attract a large number of domestic and international tourists, while affirming the Dalat Flower Festival brand on the world tourism map.
