The writing contest “Coming to the Road to the Future” has just been launched in Hanoi to spread reading culture and share solutions for developing the country's future.

The contest was organized by the Institute of Education and Environmental Sciences, the Vietnam Culture and Reading Floor in collaboration with the Literature and Arts Times and the Digital Knowledge Media Corporation to extend the meaning of the book "The Road to the Future" (writer, researcher Nguyen Xuan Tuan).

Starting from a book about the journey of building a sustainable country, the contest seeks ideas for application and criticism of the book, thereby stimulating predictive thinking, criticism and social creativity.

The contest is organized with the expectation of further spreading the ideological value of the book "The Road to the Future" - a work highly appreciated for its academic depth and strategic vision for national development. This is also an academic playground to gather analytical and critical opinions of researchers, scholars, artists, journalists and the general public, especially young people, around major issues in the country's development process.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Khuong, Director of the Institute of Education and Environmental Sciences , volume 1 of the book "The Road to the Future" with nearly 1,000 pages was officially released at the end of April 2025 and was quickly received by readers, with 3,000 copies released in less than two months.

“The work has created a big surprise, not only for readers but also for the academic community, when it sets out a development ideology that is expansive, interdisciplinary and deeply humane. Therefore, we expect the contest to become a place to gather the intelligence, creativity, enthusiasm and sense of civic responsibility of all social classes, together creating a new development path for Vietnam in the integration era,” Mr. Khuong emphasized.

Writer and journalist Hoang Du, Editor-in-Chief of Literature and Arts Times and Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest, said that this is a two-way interactive space where readers not only receive but also respond, analyze, criticize and co-create with the author. This will make reading culture more lively, practical and different from conventional contests. The goal of the contest is also to contribute to developing a real reading culture in the community./.
